Dr. Jose Santiero
Medical Director

Dr. Santiero provides psychiatric evaluation, medication prescription, and medication monitoring for patients who are in need of psychotropic intervention. Dr. Santeiro has over 25 years of experience in the field of psychiatry. Much of his work has been focused on treating patients with co-morbidity, crisis stabilization, detox, dual diagnosis, and medication management.

Dr. Drew Lieberman

Dr. Lieberman worked as a physician leader and educator in the community for 3 decades. His prior focus was on improvement of surgical outcomes in outpatient settings with his background as an anesthesiologist and medical director. Recently, he’s been fighting the national epidemic of opioid abuse. Direct patient care and the possibility of saving lives is what drives him every day.

Samantha is a licensed Mental Health Counselor, has been working with substance abuse and mental health populations for the past 7 years, and is passionate about her work in the field of addiction and changing people’s lives for the best. B.A. Psychology from University of South Florida and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.

Tara is a Certified Addiction Professional with a passion for providing the utmost quality of services to those individuals struggling with substance use and mental health disorders. Her focus is on helping clients discover their strengths, building self-esteem and developing healthy lifestyles. Tara has worked in the field for the past 10 years, and had received her B.A. in both Education and Psychology.

Eric is a Mental Health Counselor with a passion for assisting individuals that are struggling with mental health disorders, specifically substance abuse. Eric graduated with a Masters from Carlos Albizu University in Mental Health Counseling and has been active within the field for a year and a half.

Brooks has been a freelance journalist for the better part of two decades, as well as spending a decade as a crisis intervention counselor. Through his own work and researching the work of others throughout the many facets of the detox, crisis intervention, and mental health worlds he has been able to tell the stories of those worlds in an effort to help addicts and those with mental illnesses understand and navigate them. Brooks is currently Editor-in-Chief at Compass Detox.

Professor Jenni Jacobsen

Jenni is a licensed master’s-level social worker currently in the dissertation process for a PhD in psychology. She has worked in social work practice for over seven years, in both government and school settings. Her work has involved providing services to both teens and adults struggling with addiction. She is currently a college professor at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, teaching coursework in addiction, human behavior, and social science research.

Cyndy Lay, MS, RN is a practicing RN with a passion for research and education, specifically related to the care and treatment of alcoholics and addicts within the healthcare system.

With over 9 years of sobriety, Cyndy has experience with multiple paths of recovery, relapse, and cross-addiction.

Jesse Kelso

Jesse is a third-year medical student at the University of Toledo. He is interested in pursuing Family Medicine after his final year of schooling. Jesse has peripheral interests in addiction treatment and the psychology of addiction, as well as human performance. Jesse is originally from Buffalo, NY, where he has a younger brother who is also in medical school at the University at Buffalo, and an older sister who practices law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Clarissa O’Neill is a recovering addict/alcoholic that seeks to use her writing and experiences to break down mental health stigmas. After struggling with mental health issues since her early teenage years, Clarissa has overcome trauma, addictions and battles with severe depression & anxiety. Her greatest standing ambition is to start the necessary conversations in order to shed light on the importance of mental health and the resources available to those struggling. A US Army Veteran, Clarissa is also mother to a son, who greatly inspires her to keep pressing through any hardships and look ahead always to brighter days.
